The trends for this Spring/Summer 2013 fashion is gravitating towards a modern, geometric and graphic look. Jewellery and accessories that complete the overall styling at the most influential international collections are bold statement pieces created from a mixture of old and new inspirations. As seen on the catwalk there is a strong Sixties style influences that are fused with modern fabrics and textiles and the most popular shades for jewellery colours which are a mixture of black and brushed gold as seen at Balenciaga. Coloured ceramic materials also prove to be a new look for accessories and costume jewellery.

Brushed Gold

Brushed gold are used to create big bold rings, which was also worn in multiples as seen at Balenciaga, stacked high on every finger including the thumb. This was also the case for the Fendi collection which also showing a wide plain band rings in multiples.

Alternative Materials.

Alternative materials are also a key trend for Spring/Summer 2013 with ceramics and leathers were used at the international shows to fashion wrist cuffs and bangles for next spring. There was also the use of man-made materials such as perpex and hard plastics for mini clutches and evening bags are starting to trend since Charlotte Olympia’s used this fabric for the outer shell of her Pandora clutch.
