Jewellery Stolen From Old Bailey, Police Baffled
Friday, April 25th, 2008Jewellery worth up to £20, 000 has been stolen from an apartment in the Old Bailey, London’s top criminal court. The flat is the home of the Sherriff of London, and the Old Bailey itself teams with judges.
In what appears to be one of the safest places to live, visitors to the Old Bailey must be escorted at all times. Police are questioning staff in what can only look like an inside job.
The only inhabitant that has free run of the Old Bailey is a black cat called Big Ben. Interestingly, Ben was last seen talking to Macavity outside The Chandos, Trafalgar Square.
